UWA Oceans Institute Report on Binalup

It was a great pleasure to facilitate a textiles workshop for Natasha Pauli’s team at the UWA Oceans Institute. In an innovative and effective way of engaging people living in coastal towns on issues of climate change and adaption, the team sought input from participants through making. These inputs were used by UWA students to design coastal adaptation responses.

The report and final art exhibition gave a vivid picture of how we might respond differently to climate impacts on where and how we live.

I was honoured to be a participant in one of the poetry workshops with Renee Pettitt-Schipp. We gathered at Binalup (Middleton Beach) for some inspiring hours of immersing in and writing about this special piece of Great Southern coastline.
